Start scanning by pressing
in FARO Record or by pressing the start scan
button on the scan page in FARO Record Mobile (Note: In FARO Record Mobile
the option Scan with Color on the color page has to be selected first).
The scanner will now first take an ordinary scan and will turn 180°. Then it will
continue to turn to 360° and determine additional exposure settings. At the end of
the full turn, it will calculate a balanced exposure setting.
•
If you are using the new non-parallax camera mount, you are now asked to move
the camera into its operating position over the mirror itself and to wind down the
scanner, so that the camera is horizontally and vertically aligned with the mirror
axis. If you are using the new FARO carbon fiber tripod wind down the scanner to
the lower end position of the geared column. If you are using other tripods wind
down the scanner for exactly 20cm.

Operating position of the camera
Please make sure that the gear column is at the same horizontal end position in its
rotational freedom as before.
•
The scanner will now turn backwards and will stop several times to take a picture
on each stop.
•
The pictures are automatically transferred to the controlling computer and put
into the scan file.
•
After scanning in color the scanner may need some calculating time before you
can go on.
