number are not part of the scan file name.
Please note: The file split option is only available for remote storage.

Switch external control mode on
The external control mode tells the scanner to obey the start and stop
signals of the external device. If the scanner isn’t in external control mode,
it will start scanning as soon as it gets ready. In addition, no ready signal
and no synchronization signals are issued.
There is no interface to change the external control mode interactively. The
external control mode can be switched on or off by modifying the scanner
parameters manually:
To switch the external control mode ON, open a text editor and create a .txt
file with the following content:
AttrContainer {
Attr<int> { Name "ExtStorageCtrl"
Value 1
}
}
Establish a connection to the scanner with SCENE Record, make sure that no
scanner parameter dialog is currently open, and then transfer this .txt file to
the scanner with

Start and pause scanning
With external control mode switched on, you initiate the scanner as usual by
pressing the on/off button on the scanner or by pressing the button in
SCENE Record. Initiating the scanner with SCENE Record Mobile via a
wireless connection is possible too, of course. The mirror will start rotating,
but no scan data will be written into a file until an external start signal is
issued (see chapters 10.3.3 and 10.3.4).
