Installing the Warning Lights

AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT

Do not install equipment or route wiring in the deployment

path of an airbag. Failure to observe this warning will reduce the effectiveness of the

airbag or potentially dislodge the equipment, causing serious injury or death.

NOTE:

For electrical installation instructions, refer to the Installation and Maintenance Instructions included

with the warning light. Plan all cable routing before the installation.
To install the warning lights:

1.

Route the wire from the lighthead through the bracket.

DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN SCREWS/NUTS

To avoid damage to the lightheads,

do not overtighten the screws or nuts.

2.

Mount the lighthead to the bracket.

a.

The IMPAXX 300 Series mounts with the bezel using the supplied #6-32 Tri-Lobe screws (Figure 1

on page 2).

b.

The IMPAXX 600 Series mounts without the bezel using the supplied #10-32 TORX screws in

place of the original #10-32 cross-recessed screws (Figure 2 on page 2).

3.

Position the assembly on the lower rear opera window panel of the vehicle at the selected location. The

location should lie within the fixed area of the window glass. Using the assembly as a template, mark the

centers of the two mounting holes.

DRILLING PRECAUTIONS

Before drilling holes, check the area into which you

are drilling to be sure you do not damage vehicle components while drilling. All

drilled holes should be de-burred and all sharp edges should be smoothed. All

wire routings going through drilled holes should be protected by a grommet or

convolute/split loom tubing.

4.

Center-punch the marks and use a 1/8" drill bit to drill two 0.125" holes.

5.

Secure the bracket through the drilled holes with two #8 Type B screws.

6.

Connect the warning lights as described in the instructions provided with them.

7.

Repeat steps 1 through 6 with the other side.

8.

Test the warning lights for proper operation and the vehicle warning system according to the instructions

in the next section.
