thus maximise the operating time of the pruning shears 06,
we recommend using the half-open option, which may be
set to 50%, 60% or 70% using the FELCO app (free
download from the App Store or Google Play). That option
allows significant time savings while cutting small diameters.
•
If the cut is too large, the pruning shears 06 can no longer
be closed. Only opening is possible.
•
FELCO recommends the use of a platform for working at
heights or our 1 m (880/100-100) and 1.5 m (880/100-150)
extension ranges available as accessories.
•
If not used for a long time, the pruning shears 06 and
FELCO Power Pack 882 must be stored in the case in a dry
and temperate place.
•
If the pruning shears 06 are blocked while cutting, tip the
shears 06 up to unblock them. Do not leverage sideways or
downwards.
•
Sharpening the blade of the pruning shears 06 is crucial,
because it determines the cutting quality and the life of the
blade and mechanical parts and the life of the battery 02. Its
frequency depends on the cut wood (hardness and
diameter), the cutting rate and the sharpening tool
(FELCO 902 recommended). That is why, during the first
few days of use, you will need to frequently check the
condition of the edge of the blade and sharpen it at the right
time (checking every hour will quickly give you an idea of
that frequency). For heavy-duty pruning, daily sharpening is
recommended throughout the pruning season.
MAINTENANCE
CHANGING THE BLADE
When it is no longer possible to correctly adjust the crossing of the
blade and counter-blade (due to blade wear and tear), the blade
should be replaced. To that end, follow the instructions in step A on
page 4 of this user manual. During this operation, please check the
wear and tear of the bolt and replace it if required.
CAUTION
Never operate the pruning shears 06 without a blade. That could
damage to the pruning shears 06 and lead to injury. It is essential to
disconnect the pruning shears 06 from the pruning shears cable 01d
before this operation.
CHANGING THE BLADE AND COUNTER-BLADE
When, after several blade changes, cutting is not as clean in spite of
precise adjustment of the gap between the blade and counter blade,
the counter-blade should be changed.
To do so, follow the instructions in step B on page 5 of this user
manual.
CAUTION
Never operate the pruning shears 06 without a counter-blade. That
could damage to the pruning shears 06 and lead to injury. It is
essential to disconnect the pruning shears 06 from the pruning shears
cable 01d before this operation.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USING THE 882 POWER PACK
•
You must take all necessary precautions to avoid catching
the pruning shears cord 01d in the branches. To that end,
when the Power Pack 882 is worn in harness or backpack
mode, use the loops on the shoulder straps of the backpack
and then attach the pruning shears cord 01d to the arm
using the cuff (part 800/301) or run it through your sleeve.
•
In cold or wet conditions, protect the FELCO Power Pack by
carrying it under your raincoat.
OUTSIDE THE PRUNING PERIOD
•
Store the FELCO Power Pack 882 in its carrying case 05
away from heat, dust and humidity in a dry and temperate
place (see battery manual). No combustible objects may be
placed within 1.5 meters of the battery 02. Make sure that
switch 01e is in the off position.
•
Never store the FELCO Power Pack 882 at ambient
temperature exc40°C (+103°F).
CAUTION
•
To preserve the longevity of the battery 02 and prevent
damage, it is imperative to store it in the charged condition
and to recharge it every 12 months when not in use.
•
Do not operate the switch 01e during the storage period.
•
Away from the season of use, you should have your tool
serviced by an authorized dealer. For more information,
please contact your authorized dealer or get in touch with
us.
ALARMS DURING OPERATION
The pruning shears 06 may stop when they are in use. That may be
due to a technical problem and if so, a visit to your authorized dealer
is necessary. Only the alarms described below do not require
servicing by your dealer:
WHEN THE PRUNING SHEARS 06 ARE SWITCHED ON
Emission of a long sound signal followed by:
- a series of 3 quick beeps = No communication error with the pruning
shears 06.
NOTE:
If only a long sound is heard when the pruning shears 06 are switched
on, that means the shears have not been recognised. Please take
them to your dealer for an advanced diagnosis.
WHEN THE SWITCH 01E REMAINS ON
After 10 minutes of non-use of the FELCO Power Pack 882 with the
switch 01e in the On position, it stops automatically. It emits 5 series
of 5 quick beeps.
To switch the FELCO Power Pack 882 on again, simply turn the 01e
switch to Off and then back to On.
WHEN THE BATTERY IS DISCHARGED
When the capacity of the battery 02 reaches a low charge level, the
FELCO Power Pack 882 emits a series of 5 continuous sounds every
minute until the shears 06 stop completely. At this point, the tool can
no longer be used and the battery 02 goes into standby mode.
NOTE
When the battery 02 has reached this state, be sure to recharge it
quickly and do not store it in that condition for more than 24 hours.
