TROUBLESHOOTING
CLEANING AUTO-START INFRARED SENSORS
Paper detection sensors are designed for maintenance free operation. However,
on rare occasions the sensors may become blocked by paper dust causing the
motor to run even if there is no paper present
(Note: two paper detection sensors are
located in the center of the paper entry).
Turn off and unplug
shredder
Locate Auto-start
infrared sensor
Clean any contamination
from the paper sensors

SHEET CAPACITY SENSOR
AUTO SHUT OFF
Low Oil Indicator: When illuminated, the shredder oil is low and will need to be replaced. Use Fellowes Oil for Automatic Oiling Systems 3505801.
Safety Shield Indicator: When flashing alternatively with On/Off ( ) LED, safety shield is open and shredding will stop. To resume shredding, make sure safety shield is closed.
Door Open Indicator: When flashing alternatively with On/Off ( ) LED, the door is open. To resume shredding, make sure the door is closed.
Paper Capacity Indicator: When flashing blue, too much paper is inserted. Shredder will automatically stop and reverse paper. If necessary, press (R) to run shredder in
reverse. See Paper Jam section.
Bin Full Indicator: When illuminated, the shredder waste bin is full and needs to be emptied. Use Fellowes waste bag 3604101.
Remove lid from
oil bottle
Put oil tube into oil
bottle and screw
stopper on
Place oil bottle into
oil holder on side
of cabinet
Close door. Plug
into socket-outlet
Oil pump starts
automatically on
first use. To stop Oil
Indicator ( ) from
blinking red, press ON
( ) after 15 seconds
After changing oil
bottle, press Reverse
(R) until Oil Indicator
( ) no longer blinks

Up to RED: Too many sheets have been

Gently pull uncut paper
from paper entry. Machine
runs for a short time in
reverse. Repeat if necessary

Shred one sheet
Set to Off ( ) and empty bin. Replace bin and follow the below procedures.
Helps prevent paper jams by indicating sheet capacity levels during
the shredding process
After 30 minutes of inactivity, shredder automatically turns off for
zero energy consumption
