Model 35-ITA Incubator Transporter
5.6 Loading the Transporter
Loading the transporter into an ambulance with a patient on it requires
a
minimum
of two trained operators who are communicating, working
together, and maintaining control of the transporter at all times.
1.
Trained Operators:
○
Raise the ambulance folding bumper (D), if present.
○
Extend the drop frame.
○
Roll the transporter near the patient compartment door.
○
Align the transporter with, and keep it parallel to, the ambulance
side walls during loading.
2.
Both Operators:
Raise the transporter to the loading position.
See “General Specifications” on page 8.
3.
Both Operators:
Roll the transporter into the patient
compartment until the loading wheels are on the floor and the
safety bar (E) passes the safety hook (Figure 14).
4.
Assisting Operator (B):
Confirm the safety bar has been captured
by the safety hook.
5.
Control-end Operator (A):
Lift and hold the transporter control
end level with the ambulance floor.
6.
Control-end Operator (A):
Squeeze and hold the control handle.
Tell the Assisting Operator to lift the undercarriage.
7.
Assisting Operator (B):
When the Control-end Operator
communicates that he/she is ready, grasp the undercarriage grip
(C), lift and fold the undercarriage (Figure 15).
8.
Control-end Operator (A):
Release the control handle to lock the
undercarriage in the folded position.
9.
Both Operators:
Push the transporter into the ambulance,
keeping it parallel with the ambulance side walls. Secure it in the
fastening system.
10.
Either Operator:
Confirm the transporter is secure in the
fastening system.
