• Top up if necessary with the specifi ed oil
being careful not to go over the
MAX
level shown on the dipstick.
• Screw the cap back on tightly.
If the oil is under the
MIN
level,
top up anyway and have the system
checked by an authorised
Ferrari Service
Centre.
Checking the gearbox and the F

gearbox system oil level
It is recommended to have the oil level check
performed by an authorised
Ferrari Service
Centre
or by skilled staff.
Checking the oil level in the hydraulic
steering system
The level check must be carried out with
the engine warm, after having travelled at
least 15 Km, and with the vehicle parked on
a fl at ground.
• Remove the tank cap and check that
the level is between the
MIN
and
MAX
notches on the dipstick.
The oil level check must be carried out with
the cap resting on the tank.

• Top up if necessary with the specifi ed oil
up to the
MAX
level.
• Screw the cap back on tightly.
Level checks
General notes
The level checks must be carried out at the
intervals indicated in the “Maintenance
Schedule” or in any case before starting a
long journey.
• Open the engine compartment lid (see
page 61
).
Use only lubricants and/or fl uids
recommended by
Ferrari
(see the table
“Capacities” on
page 14)
.
Checking the engine oil level
The level check must be carried
out with the engine warm (oil
temperature >70°C) and the cap resting on
the oil separator fi ller neck.
Proceed as follows:
• With the engine idling, unscrew the fi ller
cap and check that the level is between
the
MIN
and
MAX
notches on the
dipstick.
• MAX - MIN = 1.5 litres
