Safety elements assembly
WARNING
Risk of accident, electric shock
Always pull the plug out of the socket before
performing any type of work on the machine.

7.1 Additional
holder
Special construction “VIBRASTOP” regulates the
vibrations with additional holder
[1-13]
. Addition-
al holder can be screwed from the left or right
side of gearbox.
7.2 Rotating
handle
By turning the main handle by 90° to the left or
right you achieve better handling of the tool.
Press the handle arrest button
[2-5]
and turn the
holder to the working position, where the arrest
button must again lock in.
7.3 Exhaust
cover
Assembly
Lay the grinder on the table edge with spindle
upwards and main hadle to left.
Lock the exhaust cover in upper position and
mount into the grinder collar.
The guide pad must be inserted into the groove
on the spindle collar fi gure
[3]
.
Turn the grinder clockwise into suitable work-
ing position – fi gure
[4]
, set the cover to the
maximum cut-through and arrest in this posi-
tion.
Tighten sleeve
[5-2]
with screw
[5-1]
– fi gure
[5]
. During tightening observe uniform gap be-
tween sleeve and bearing cover indent, you will
achieve the right vertical position of bearing
cover in cover sleeve.
The control of correct clamping should be car-
ried out according to fi gure
[5 a]
.
Removal
The cutting disc must be dismounted before
the disassembly of the exhaust cover.
Set the cover to the maximum cut-through and
put it down with the grinder at the bottom.
Loosen screw
[5-1]
of sleeve
[5-2]
.
Set the cover to the top position.
Turn the guiding tab
[5-3]
into the groove on
the grinder’s clamping neck.
Remove the cover from the grinder’s clamping
neck.
7.4 Dust
extraction
WARNING
Dust hazard
Always work with a dust extractor.
To ensure suction, put the hose of a Festool vacu-
um cleaner class M or H into the suction adapter
[1-11]
.
Warning:
Always work with the suction connect-
ed. Use exclusively antistatic vacuum cleaners to
prevent discharges of static electricity in dusty
environments.
For enhancing of exhausting effi ciency, the cover
is equipped with changeable dust cover
[6-1]
. If
the dust cover loses its function by wear, change
it – see fi gure
[6]
.

Diamond cutting disc
8.1 Clamping
WARNING
Do not use quick-change nuts for clamping the
disc!
WARNING
Only use diamond cutting discs recommended
by the manufacturer and the prescribed fl ang-
es included with the cover and the grinder.

For reasons of safety, always use original Fes-
tool grinding discs!

Sintered cutting discs must not be used!
-
If the permissible revolution speed is given on
the disc, it must not be lower than the highest
no-load speed of the grinder.
-
Discs with a permissible peripheral speed of 80
m/s and higher may be used.
-
Test new cutting discs by letting them run for
about one minute with no load.
