IGNITION SWITCH
Ignition Switch
The ignition switch can be turned to three
different positions:
• STOP: engine off, key can be removed

door locking system, etc

) can operate

NOTE:
The transmission must be shifted into PARK
before the key is turned to the OFF position
.
Then, the key can be removed
.
• AVV: engine start-up
.
• MAR: driving position
.
All electrical devices are
enabled
.
If the key is turned to the OFF/LOCK position
before shifting into park, the key will have to be
moved to the driving (MAR) position and back to
OFF/LOCK
.
Then, the key can be removed
.
WARNING!
• Before exiting a vehicle, always shift the
automatic transmission into PARK or the
manual transmission into FIRST gear or
REVERSE, apply the parking brake, then turn
