5. BEFORE STARTING
Operating instructions
Petrol-powered garden pumps are exclusively designed to pump water and neutral liquids with temperature
corresponding to the surrounding temperature.
OPERATING BY PERSONS UNDER 18 IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.
ATTENTION!
Keep watch over the work area: never aim the water jet at people or animals. Stop the engine
immediately if anybody is getting closer.
CAUTION ABOUT THE WORK AREA!
Never work in the vicinity of power lines or buildings.
Only work if the ambient lighting conditions are suffi cient for clear visibility.
Take particular care when using the protective equipment as some personal protective equipment may limit
your ability to hear the sounds indicating danger (prompts, signals, warnings etc.).
Pay great attention to working on slope and inhomogeneous terrain.

All kinds and types of solvents and thinners
All kinds and types of fuels and lubricants
All kinds and types of gases or liquefi ed propane
All kinds and types of fl ammable liquids
Food liquids designed for animals and people
Liquids containing solid granules or particles
Mixtures of several chemicals incompatible with one another
Liquids with temperatures over 40°C
All products not corresponding to the intended machine use
Liquids containing anti-parasitic agents, herbicides or pesticides
CAUTION:
Petrol-powered garden pumps are not to be used as safety equipment to extinguish fi res. Do
not pump liquids in containers that might explode due to overpressure.
FUEL HANDLING RULES
To reduce the risk of fi re or burns, handle the fuel with care. It’s extremely infl ammable.
Mix and store the fuel only in a container approved for the given fuel type.
Mix the fuel outdoors where there is no risk of sparks or fi re occurrence.
Before refi lling the fuel, put the machine on the ground, stop the engine and wait until it has cooled down.
Loosen the fuel tank cap slowly to allow the overpressure to release and avoid the fuel spilling.
When refi lled, tighten the fuel tank cap fi rmly. Vibrations may lead to the cap loosening and fuel leakage.
Carefully wipe spilt fuel, if any. Before starting the engine, please go at least 3m away from the fuel refi lling
location.
Never under any circumstances attempt to burn spilt fuel.
Store the fuel in a cool, dry and well-ventilated location.
