8. HOW TO USE THIS PRODUCT?
Before using, make yourself familiar well with the manual as well as the machine itself.
Before any work on the machine, switch-off the machine, remove the plug from the mains and
make sure that all moving parts have been stopped completely.
Examine the material that you intend to process thoroughly first. Remove all foreign objects
which might be ejected by the machine or get stuck in it during processing. Remove earth
from roots. Do not put foreign objects as stones, glass, pieces of metal, fibres or plastic
materials into the feed hopper! Shredding knives might be damaged.
Always place the machine on a level and firm ground. While operating the shredder, do not
lean over or make needless movements.
Let the rotating knives of the shredding mechanism reach maximal revolutions and only then
feed the material intended for shredding into the feed hopper.
Use the machine solely for shredding the following materials:
- twigs and branches (max. 40mm diameter)
- bush cleaning waste
- hedge cleaning waste
- rests of plants and other garden waste
- leaves and roots of plants (remove earth from roots before shredding)
Do not feed soft kitchen bio-waste into the machine, put it on the compost heap.
If not too bulky, insert the material for processing to the corner of the feed hopper. Knives will
pull it inside without further assistance.
Only insert as much material as can be fed into the feed opening not to get it jammed and
blocked
WARNING!
Longer pieces of material may traverse about and strike you while being pulled
into the shredding mechanism. Therefore keep a safe distance from the feed hopper!
Ensure the shredded material comes freely out from the discharge chute.
For better composting, you can process material in the shredder twice.
Do not allow processed material to build up under the discharge chute so that it reaches to
the shredding mechanism. This would cause blockage of the knives and then of the feed
hopper.
