Before using
5. BEFORE USING
Always carefully read this user's manual and inspect the power tool before using it.
WARNING
:
Before starting work, check the cutting blades and never use blades that
are blunt, cracked or damaged. Make sure that the handle and the safety elements
are in good working order. Never use a power tool that is missing any part or which
has been modifi ed and does not meet the technical parameters. All protective
guards must be correctly installed before the engine of the hedge trimmer is started.
WARNING
:
This hedge trimmer is equipped with a two-stroke engine and, therefore,
it a petrol-oil fuel mix must be used. Please proceed according to the procedure
provided below.
WARNING: Always use good quality gloves, footwear and hearing and eye protection during work. The
equipment must have a CE mark and must be tested according to the requirements of the PPE directive
(Person Protective Equipment). Poor quality equipment may limit protection of persons and may lead to
injury during work.
ENGINE FUEL
WARNING
:
This hedge trimmer is equipped with a two-stroke engine. A petrol-oil fuel
mix must be used.
Only add fuel in well ventilated locations.
Take care not to spill any fuel.
Never add fuel while the engine is running.
Allow the engine to cool down for about two minutes before adding fuel.
Fuel must not be added in the vicinity of an open fl ame, control light lamps or electrical equipment that
produce sparks, or electrical tools such as welding units or grinders.
1. Set the engine switch (Fig. 1, point 4) to the off (OFF) position to ensure that the engine is turned off.
2. Perform a visual inspection of the fuel in the fuel tank. Remove the fuel tank cap and check the fuel level.
3. Refi ll the fuel tank with a mixture of lead-free petrol with an octane number of at least 90 (ideally RON 95)
and two-stroke engine oil in a ratio of 40:1 (2.5% oil in the fuel mix)
4. Turn the fuel tank cap clockwise to tighten it.
WARNING
:
Do not refi ll fuel when the engine is running or when it is hot.
Never use four-stroke engine oil.
Never use two-stroke engine oil for liquid-cooled engines.
Poor quality oil and incorrect fuel mixtures may pose danger to the function of the engine and reduce the
operating lifetime of catalytic converters..
Thoroughly shake the canister to obtain the correct fuel mix before refi lling.
Never use old or contaminated petrol or petrol-oil mixes.
