Operating the saw
When working on a slope, it is necessary to stay higher than the wood being cut.
Extreme caution should be exercised when pruning a stretched tree and, if possible, have a qualifi ed tree feller do
the work.
When pruning a tree that is stretched and supported at both ends, it should be cut from above to a depth of 1/3
of the diameter and then fi nished from below.
In the case where the stretched tree is only supported at one end, it should be cut from below to a depth of 1/3 of
the diameter and then fi nished from above. (XIX)
In this way, the risk of pinching the saw during cutting is reduced.
