Control Panel Installation
FIK-5824 Serial/Parallel Interface Module Installation

Use the DIP switches on the back of the FIK-5824 board to assign an ID# to the FIK-5824 (see Section 4.12.1).

Configure the FIK-5824 device through programming. See Section 4.9.1.

Connect the printer to the FIK-5824 as shown in Figure 4.29.

4.9.1 Selecting FIK-5824 Options
To configure the FIK-5824, refer to the following steps:
•
Add the module to the System. The JumpStart will automatically add the module (see Section 8.1). You can also add it
manually (see Section 9.2.2).
•
Select a name, if desired (See “Naming Modules” on page 121.).
•
Select options for the printer and the output port. Printer and Output Port Options
The printer is used for ancillary only.
1.
From the Main Menu, select 7 for Program Menu.
2.
Select 1 for Module.
3.
Select 1 for Edit Module.
4.
From the list that displays, select the FIK-5824 Module you want to configure.

Press ENTER to bypass the next two screens. A screen similar to the one shown in Figure 4.30 will display.

Select the Printer and the Output Port Options.
7.
Select the options for the printer as needed for your installation. Most printers are parallel.
8.
If you use a Serial Printer, use the next screen to select the serial port options as required for your printer. Refer to your
Printer Manual if you need more information.

Use a maximum of four FIK-5824s per panel.
