PREPARATION OF THE MACHINE
RICHARGING THE BATTERIES
Fig.10
Disconnect the battery/system connectors.
Pull out the battery tray.
Connect the battery charger plug to the mains socket.
Make sure the battery charger is suitable for the capacity and the type of battery that is
installed (lead/acid or GEL and equivalent).
ATTENTION: do not ever recharge GEL batteries with inappropriate battery
charger. Keep strictly to the indications that are provided by the manufacturer of
the battery and of the battery charger.
In order to avoid any permanent damage to batteries, prevent them from going completely
flat and recharge them just a few minutes after the battery level indicator starts blinking.
NOTE: Do not ever allow batteries to run completely down, even if the machine remains
unused.
Every 20 recharging cycles, check the electrolyte level and, if necessary, top it up with
distilled water.
ATTENTION: For daily battery recharging, keep strictly to the indications that
are provided by the manufacturer or the dealer. Installation and maintenance procedures
must be carried out by skilled personnel. Risk of gas fumes and leakage of corrosive
liquids. Risk of fire: avoid contact with open flames
CONNECTING THE BATTERY CONNECTOR
Figure 11
The battery connector (2) must be connected to the machine connector (1).
BATTERY LEVEL INDICATOR
Figure 12
The battery level indicator is operated by a microprocessor. The LEDs display the
approximate level of charge:
4 =
max charge level,
3 =
¾ charge level,
2 =
½
charge level,
1 = ¼ charge level,
0 =
flat batteries (blinking light).
ATTENTION
:
a few second after the “0” is shown, the brush motor switches
off automatically. However, with the residual charge, the floor can be dried before
recharging.
