Sand (25 Lbs) for filling the Sand/Waterbox
: Your Fire Sense XL Series patio heater comes standard
with an empty PVC Sand/Waterbox container which is pre-assembled to the heater base. Once filled with
sand, this weighted container will add approximately 25 lbs. to the base of the heater providing extra
stability and safety.
Tip: When filling with sand, having a funnel on hand will be helpful. If possible, use easy-to-pour, dry
silica sand (available at most home improvement centers.)
Note
: The Sand/Waterbox container may also be filled with water (mild weather climates) or automotive
windshield washer fluid (cold weather climates) however, the additional weight when filled with water or
windshield washer fluid will only add approximately 18 lbs. to the heater base as compared to the 25 lbs. when
filled with sand.
Tip: To add an additional 5-6 lbs. of weight to a sand filled base, add water (mild weather climates) or windshield
washer fluid to the base after filling it with sand.
