OPERATION
USING THE DISPLAY
It is possible to set the time, view data and check the internal conditions of the data
logger using the built-in display. Do not leave the display exposed in full sun for long
periods of time (high temperatures may damage the display). At low temperatures
the display will respond more slowly than at room temperature, and may become
faint or low contrast. If the display temperature is too high, it may go black and be
unreadable. It will normally recover when it cools, but excessive temperatures may
damage it.
Press the Main Menu key to turn on the display and show the initial menu. From
this point, select the desired menu options using the black keys in conjunction with
the options written above them. You can return to the opening menu at any time by
pressing the Main Menu key.
A PC which is connected to the front panel COMPUTER port will automatically
disable the HDL1 display as soon as the PC activates its com port DTR line.
EXTRACTING STORED DATA
To extract data from the data logger, either the display can be used for small
amounts on-site or software running on a laptop or desk computer can be used to
retrieve data. StreamTrac, AutoCaller and Toolbox-DDL all support FTS telemetry as
well as the direct connect option to allow you to gather your data remotely.
