3. Remove the 2 bolts holding the throttle linkage; to be able
to secure the engine to part 50.
‒
Remove 2 bolts.
‒
Total of 2 locations.
Note
the location of the 2 throttle linkage bolts.
4. Using a socket wrench secure the engine bolts to part 50.
‒
Use 4 bolts.
‒
Total of 4 locations.
5. For next installation step:
‒
2.5 HP MODEL
continue to step 6.
‒
4.0 HP MODEL
continue to step 8.
6. Secure the throttle linkage back into place using the bolts.
‒
Use 2 bolts.
‒
Total of 2 locations.
7. Install the extension spring, by hooking one end
through the hole located on the throttle linkage. Then
using pliers, stretch the extension spring and hook it
through the second hole on the opposite side of the
throttle linkage.
Note
the location of the extension spring.
8. Slide part 56 into the space located on the engine side.
Note
the location of slot.
9. Secure part 56, using M8 screws.
‒
Use 3 screws.
‒
Total of 3 locations.
Note
the locations of the 3 screws.
10. Slide the clutch over the engine crank shaft.
‒
Be sure the set screws on the clutch are backed‑out
enough to be able to slide the clutch over
the crankshaft.
‒
Be sure the small sprocket is facing toward the engine
and the set screws are facing away from the engine.
‒
Be sure to align the keyway on the clutch with the
keyway on the drive shaft.
Note
the orientation of clutch; the small sprocket should face the engine.
