When oxygen system high pressure is detected
the quantity display digits change to amber
dashes and the amber “OXY PRESS HI” CAS
message is displayed. The “OXYGEN QTY
LOW” CAS illuminates if the oxygen quantity
decreases to 555 liters. At the same time, the

EICAS/MFD SUMRY/ECS displays turns
from white to amber and is boxed with an
amber box. Extremely low quantities and in-
valid signal reports are annunciated as amber
dashes.
CREW DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
The crew distribution system incorporates a
quick-donning mask for each pilot that regu-
lates oxygen on demand (Figure 17-6).
Puritan-Bennett masks are installed as a stan-
dard or Eros masks may be installed as an
option. The standard and optional masks are
of similar design and both have pneumatic
inflatable harnesses. The masks are stored in
stowage containers located on the upper out-
board corner of the crew seat backs (Figure
17-7).
Each mask is connected to an outlet and in-
corporates a regulator. The regulator controls
oxygen flow to the mask, and provides for
normal, 100% oxygen, and emergency oper-
ation (Figure 17-6). Each mask incorporates
a microphone. When the masks are donned
and the MASK switch is out (extended) and the
INPH switch is out (extended), the interphone
is “hot” and the on-side speaker is on, even if
the SPKR ON-OFF switch is in the OFF (de-
pressed) position.
Both the Puritan-Bennett and the Eros masks
contain a red harness inflation lever that in-
flates the mask harness when squeezed.
The Puritan-Bennett mask/regulator contains
a rotating control on the front of the regula-
