Simulator Sound
The Simulator Sound control knob is used to regulate the volume of environmental sound, such as aircraft
engine and weather sounds. Refer to Figure 3-3 for the location of the Simulator Sound control knob.
The volume of audio communications and audible warnings are not affected.
To turn sound on, push the knob in.
To increase or decrease Sim Sound volume, rotate the knob.
To mute, pull the knob out.
3.5.3.
Lighting Control Panel
Lighting of the instructor station console, instructor compartment, and displays is controlled using the
lighting control knobs and push buttons. Figure 3-6 illustrates the Lighting Control Panel.
3.5.3.1.
Console Lighting Controls
There are three control knobs which are used to illuminate the Instructor Station console and observer
area.
Console El
knob controls the illumination of the electroluminescent panels and push button
switches of the Control Panels on the instructor’s console. Rotate the knob to adjust the illumination
level.
Console Spot
knob controls the small overhead lamps which illuminate the touchscreen area of
the instructor station. Push the knob in to turn the lamp off. Pull the knob out to turn the lamp on.
Rotate the knob to adjust lamp illumination level.
Observer Light Control
knob controls the small overhead lamps which illuminate the observer
area of the instructor station. Push the knob in to turn the lamp off. Pull the knob out to turn the lamp
on. Rotate the knob to adjust lamp illumination level.
3.5.3.2.
Display Controls
The Display Controls consist of two control knobs and a four position control switch.
Lower Displays
Consists of two concentric control knobs used to control the brightness of the
lower left and right displays. The outside knob controls the lower left display and the inside knob
controls the lower right display. Rotate the appropriate knob to adjust the brightness of the
touchscreen displays.
