Freezes/Resets
The Freezes/Resets Control Panel is located beside the upper touchscreen. The push buttons located on
the Freezes/Resets panel are used in addition to touchscreen selections to control simulation. See Figure
3-8 for an illustration of the Freezes/Resets panel. These operations can be chosen by pressing the
appropriate freeze or reset push button. There are fifteen push buttons with five simulation freezes,
including five spares, and two reset push buttons, including three spares, located on the panel. with these
push buttons, the instructor can freeze all or a part of the flight simulation, or reposition the aircraft to
the approach or takeoff position of the active airport. The push buttons are either momentary action or
alternate action. A momentary action push button activates when pressed and deactivates when released.
An alternate action push button activates a freeze or reposition when pressed. In some instances, the
motion system automatically resets to the flight-neutral position. When pressed a second time, it deactivates
the freeze or reposition, and allows the motion system to fade back into normal operation. The push
buttons are backlit green when off and illuminated amber when selected.
