SECTION 2: IOS FUNDAMENTALS
2.1.
INTRODUCTION
This section offers basic information and instructions for using the touch screens. The pages may be
slightly different due to design changes after shipment. The operation procedures are applicable to most
screen displays. The illustrations are representative of the system and are provided to give general
information about the screen displays.
The Instructor Station touch screens are activated by touching the face of the screen with your finger.
When you remove your finger from the screen, the coordinates of the finger position are sent to the
computer where the selection is processed.
2.2.
TERMS
Select
To activate a touch sensitive item on the screen with your finger.
Deselect
To deactivate an item by selecting an illuminated button. When an item is deselected, it
will deactivate the function of that item.
Nonselectable
Items on the screen that are not surrounded by a border or box. These items display
information relevant to the simulator and training session.

Each screen display is considered a page.
Button
An item on the screen that is surrounded by a shaded border.
