Other cooling liquids
An alternative cooling liquid with similar physical properties (warmth capacity, viscosity) as water might
be used. The resistance of the wetted materials (see data sheet) have to be closely monitored.

7.3 Electrical Connection
Danger! To life due to high voltage / current.
Therefore:
This document is for reference only. Detailed
information can be found in documents like wiring
diagram, assembly drawing, parts list, etc.
Please observe the relevant valid standards and
specifications for installation.
The electric cables between supply and pumping set
must be supported and laid so that no strain is
applied on terminals.
Screening if required should be carefully connected.
Disconnect the power supply by means of the main
switch before performing any work on the unit. There
is danger of shock hazard if working on a live unit!
After the power supply has been switched off, the
buffer capacitors in the drive control circuit may still
be charged and carry dangerous [800VDC] voltage.
Allow a discharge time of at least one minute before
carrying out any work on the unit!
Opening the commission cover plate after 20 min
only.
Only qualified electricians may work on electrical
components.
Secure the device against re-starting.
Work only if the electronic unit housing of the device
is closed.
The pump and pump-pedestal containing the electrical terminals and drive control it is made
for an indoor installation (outdoor installation needs to be approved by Flowserve SIHI Pumps).
It may be in a classified area according NEC500 codes or NEC505 or non-hazardous. The
atmosphere must be dry and clean. It should be free of corrosive and caustic media to avoid
problems caused by corrosion.
The installation site has to be ventilated sufficiently to remove any heat. Heat buildup can
cause failures whilst in operation. Further information on installation sites are given in the IOM
or can be obtained from the manufacturer Flowserve SIHI Pumps.
