Double larks head knot in Steering Lines
To consistently get the most out of
your Speed4, we have summarized the
most important tips for fine-tuning.
Optimum trim of the bridle
Basic settings on all our kites are
trimmed on stability and easy handling.
Since the Speed4 8.0 & 10.0 have a
very good basic stability reserve, the
mixer setting „B+1cm“, which means
that the B-level of the mixer has been
moved 1cm into the kite‘s direction (see
sketch), is used upon delivery. After se-
veral kiting sessions, the neutral setting
„A,B,C on an even level“ will become the
most balanced mixer setting. However,
according to personal preference, the
B-level mixer can be adjusted between
neutral „0cm“ and „+3cm“ into the kite‘s
direction, according to personal prefe-
rence. (Mixertest see chapter „13.01“).
Optimum trim of the flying lines
Dyneema steering (back) lines shorten
over a longer period of time in com-
parison to the dyneema flying (front)
lines. Because of the double larks head
knot in the Steering Lines (under the
floater) on the bar, (factory setting) it
can be, that after several kite-sessions
a backstall tendency starts to occur.
Then we advise to make a single larks
head knot out of the former double larks
head knot, simply disconnect the larks
head at the bar connection, loop around
only 1x time and pull the knot tightly.
13.03 AB-Lines
The AB-lines prevent the kite from
collapsing when it is not fully inflated,
which gives you more security during
launch. During flight they will hang a
bit slackly, as not to limit depower.
