9) Add Account for Web Administration
Press 9 to enter an account for web administration. The remainder of the setup is performed via the web
interface. Enter a username and password that you’ll remember. Set the admin level to 6. This only
needs to be performed on one device.
10) Reboot
Press 16 to reboot. Press 1 to proceed. When the device comes back up it will be at the new IP address
and domain set previously. This will need to be done on each device.
11) Configuring DNS
Your DNS server needs to be configured for the new DHCPatriot system devices that have just been
configured. Set a DNS entry of patriot.<domain you entered> pointing to both IP addresses that were set
in the previous steps. Also create matching forward and reverse entries of patriot-1.<domain> and
patriot-2.<domain> corresponding to the IP addresses entered previously.
NOTE:
Optionally, a VRRP address may be setup on the system. In that case, you may want to point
patriot.<domain you entered> at the VRRP address. See the full manual for further details.
12) Connect to Web Interface
The DHCPatriot system will be reachable at https://patriot.<domain>. Enter your username and
password. You should receive a screen that looks similar to the illustration below.
Web Administration Screen after logging in.
NOTE:
As of version 6, you may see “no news yet” displayed instead of DHCPatriot news. News is loaded
periodically from our servers. If the DHCPatriot system cannot get to the internet, no news will be
displayed.
13) General Configuration
Expand the System Configuration menu and click General Setup. This will begin the initial configuration.
Click Edit Settings. Make changes as necessary and Commit.
