Installing cPCI and PMC Option Boards

Make sure that the mains power supply is disconnected from the module
unit before continuing.

Install a cPCI option board as follows (see Figure 23 and Figure 24):
1. Follow the instructions in Chapter 3 to dismount the module
unit from a rack if additional access is required
2. Select a vacant option board connector on the Force
Computers ModuSys Product Family backplane. You must
select a connector that is appropriate for the type of option
board that you are installing.
6. Carefully slide the option board (1) into the appropriate
connector on the Force Computers ModuSys Product Family
backplane and press it firmly into place. Depending on the
option, you may wish to install some cabling now.
7. Secure the option board to the chassis by engaging the two
retaining locks (2).
8. Connect all required cables to the internal or external ports on
the option board.
9. Follow the instructions in Chapter 3 to reassemble the module
unit.
Caution
!
Take care when handling the storage device. The active components on
the storage device are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD), and can
easily be damaged. Take anti-ESD precautions such as wearing isolation
gloves or an antistatic wriststrap.
