Step 4
Continue to pump with
the left pedal. As the
blade presses into the
surface of the log the
resistance will increase.
Start pumping with the
right pedal to apply the
full 10 tons of force and
split the log.
Step 5
Once the log begins to split,
the resistance will drop and
you can switch back to the
left pedal to finish splitting
quickly.
DO NOT
attempt
to assist the log in splitting
with your hands or any form
of implement. With soft
woods it may be possible to
split the log entirely using
the left pedal.
