Safety Precautions
The elements of laser tag equipment kit supplied by LaserPro Company are high-end
technology requiring safe and careful handling.
Keep devices away from humidity. If, still it happened, – switch on the equipment quickly
and dry it within 4-5 hours at room temperature.
Keep equipment cases made of plastic (blaster, vest sensors) out of undue mechanical
stresses. If equipment has been in conditions under refrigeration – being used in heated
premises, keep it in warm not less than 2 hours before switching on in order to avoid electronic
units damage due to condensate.
Equipment for Arena laser tag has in-built battery, thus, one must observe the
safety
rules when working with Li-ion batteries
.
Li-ion batteries used in our equipment have a number of advantages in comparison with
traditional batteries. They are light in weight, with long service lifetime and have large specific
capacity per unit mass and volume. When stored and in service the batteries do not
contaminate the environment, they comply with all worldwide Ecology standards.
However, Li-ion batteries also have disadvantages. Sensitivity to overcharging and
overdischarging is one of the principal problems. Overcharging is usually accompanied by
increased heating and bloating of battery body and, as a sequence, its irreversible functional
loss. Thereto, deep discharge of device causes the same result. In order to prevent negative
effects, each battery, supplied by our Company, is equipped with internal safe circuit against
overcharge and deep discharge as well as against excess of permissible temperature (above
+90 °С).
Nevertheless, serious attention shall be paid to safe handling of Li-ion batteries.
Do not use batteries at high temperatures (for example, under conditions of direct
sunlight impact, proximity from the heat source or open fire) – in case of overheating gas
pressure inside the battery rises and it may cause explosion or to its service life decrease as a
minimum. When battery cools at temperature below 0°С, its power losses up to 40-50 %.
Maximum acceptable temperatures to use Li-ion batteries are –40°C to +50°C.
Do not use batteries under conditions of static electricity - protection devices may go
wrong and problems will arise in safe use of a battery.
Do not compress, throw and expose battery to mechanical effects.
Do not short circuit positive and negative battery leads by metallic object or wires.
When connecting several Li-on batteries use accumulators of one manufacturer - one
rating, in one and the same technical state.
Do not use batteries without electronic safe circuit. Do not change polarity of battery
leads location.
Do not connect batteries to devices not intended for power supply from it.
It is prohibited to operate bloated batteries - they require mandatory replacement.
Do not dismantle battery and do not pin it by sharp objects - it may become
depressurized and be leaky, overheat and flame out.
Do not submerse battery, throw to fire - it may explode. Do not solder battery directly to
board.
