Select a point for cable feed that is as deep as possible in the winch’s pulling
direction, without bending if possible
– use a remote roller if necessary!
23.
Do not approach a log to disengage the load until the cable is slack after the brake
has been released!
24.
When using a tractor with a hydrodynamic engine, so not leave the cab until you have
ensured that
the tractor’s or winch’s slope stabiliser has been lowered all the way down to
the ground,
the tractor’s parking brake is activated, and
the engine is in neutral.
25.
Make sure to place the winch on a firm and level surface at all times. The stability
devices must be set to support position in advance. The PTO shaft must be placed in
the corresponding holder.
26.
The provisions of StVZO and StVO must be observed.
For driving on public roads, the Danish Road Traffic Act (StVZO) applies. Marking and
lighting may be required, e.g. according to the order on vehicle-mounted implements.
27.
When using a trailer coupling for the winch, the provisions in the order on vehicle-
mounted implements must be observed.
28.
Depending on winch type, more safety-related information may be required from the
manufacturer. This is specified separately in the user instructions.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Mounting the winch:
When the winch is not being used, it must be securely and safely positioned on a firm and
level surface so that it does not constitute a danger to those in the vicinity.
For attaching the winch to the tractor, attach the tractor’s hitch lifting arms to the brackets
using the hitch bolts supplied, and then attach the top link.
The winch can then be lifted, the stabilisers raised and the lift arms fixed to avoid inadvertent
horizontal movements.
When mounting the PTO shaft, the tractor must be stopped and the key removed.
It is important to adjust the length of the PTO shaft so that it does not become trapped when
the machine is raised and lowered.
When the winch is being demounted, it must be on a firm and level surface. Lower the
stabilisers, and remove the top link and lifting arms.
When disconnecting the PTO shaft, the tractor must be stopped and the key removed.
Place the PTO shaft in the bracket provided.
Feed the steel cable through the cable guide and top roller down to the cable drum for
attachment. Attach the steel cable to the cable drum using the cable lock (page 7). Check
that the steel cable is firmly attached and undamaged. Unwind the steel cable completely
and then rewind onto the cable drum under load.
Important!
Use only cable type VDW-PYTHON 6 F-V.
