Congratulations on choosing the Freedom Scientific ONYX
®
OCR, an intuitive video magnifier that allows
you to listen to, view, and magnify text.
A simple screen tap changes your unit from an ONYX Deskset HD video magnifier to an ONYX OCR. With
the addition of the OCR camera, you can use the on-screen button bar controls to:
Acquire and process a document displayed on the screen
Listen to the unit read the processed text
See a full page view of the document with clearly marked reading zones. This allows for fast document
navigation by tapping a zone and having immediate speech from that part of the document.
Continue to add more pages to the document, and quickly save it to an SD card
In addition to processing and reading text, the ONYX OCR can also be used as a picture viewer, This lets
you capture a photograph, zoom in to view details, and save the picture to an SD card.
