IPS
IP slave interface—A Freescale Intellectual Property Interface standard used for interfacing
to peripheral devices and control registers (slaves).
Pipeline
Act of initiating a bus cycle while another bus cycle is in progress. Thus, the bus can have
multiple bus cycles pending at one time.
Slave
A bus slave is a device that responds to a bus transaction, but never initiates a cycle on the
bus.
Transaction
A bus transaction consists of an address transfer (address phase) and one or more data
transfer(s) (data phase).
