is running, it takes around an hour to reach the right tempera-
ture. You can start filling the organic waste container immediately.
Switching off the appliance
1. Turn the appliance off at the switch.
2. The appliance is no longer running.
Tip:
If you will not be using the appliance for an extended period, switch it off an
clean it (see 6.1). The lid can be removed once it has been fully opened (i.e. so
that the lid forms a 90° angle with the edge of the appliance).
‘Open lid’ warning
If the appliance is left open, a warning beep will sound after around 2 minutes.
The appliance will then switch itself off. It will begin running again as soon as
the lid is closed properly.
While the appliance is running, only open it briefly to place organic waste in the
inner container.
Tip:
Collect food scraps and peelings while cooking and put them all, along with any
unwanted leftovers, in the organic waste container when you are done. Consult
your local authority to find out what can and cannot go into organic waste bins.
Frost formation is completely normal. How quickly frost forms and how much
there is depends on the ambient conditions and on how often the lid is opened.
Dry off the outside of the organic waste container before putting it back into the
main container. See 6.2 for instructions on how to defrost the appliance.
Never put warm or hot waste into the organic waste container. Doing so will
increase the appliance’s power consumption, cause frost to form and may
damage the appliance.
Tip:
If possible, after removing the organic waste container, allow it to defrost in the
kitchen for around 3 minutes before emptying it. This helps to ensure that the
container’s contents will slide out easily when you empty it.
