Obtaining an IP Address Automatically
Overview
Network devices that are to obtain their IP address automatically by
DHCP must be configured accordingly. This configuration is performed
on the operating system level in the IP settings of the network devices.
Obtaining an IP Address Automatically in Windows
1.
In Windows 10 and 7 click “Start”.
In Windows 8, press the Windows key and the Q key at the same
time.
2.
Enter “ncpa.cpl” in the search field and press Enter.
3.
Click the network connection between the computer and the
FRITZ!Box with the right mouse button and select “Properties”.
4.
Under “This connection uses the following items”, select
“Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)”.
5.
Click the “Properties” button.
