Wire jumps out of the guide grooves of the drawback pulleys
Wire is not sufficiently tensioned when the unreeling device is idling. “Lever + drawback
pulley” unit is touching the bottom mechanical limitstop
Cause:
Braking force has been set too low
Remedy:
Set a higher braking force (See “Adjusting the braking force”)
Cause:
Spring not suspended from braking lever
Remedy:
Suspend spring from braking lever
Cause:
Working position too low
Remedy:
Set a higher working position (see: “Adjusting the working position”)
Cause:
Braking-system response is too slow
Remedy:
Set a swifter response (see: “Adjusting the braking system response”)
Cause:
Brake clearance is too large
Remedy:
Correct the brake clearance (see “Care, maintenance and inspection - Brake
clearance”)
Cause:
Excessive wear on brake lining
Remedy:
Change the brake block (see “Care, maintenance and inspection - Brake
block”)
Cause:
Brake block and brake wheel are soiled
Remedy:
Change the brake block (see “Care, maintenance and inspection - Brake
block”), clean the brake wheel with a cloth
Arc between welding wire and parts of the housing
Cause:
Excessive wear on the wire-guide tubes (guidetube and intermediate guide);
at the same time, the housing is earthed
Remedy:
Change the wire-guide tubes (guide-tube and intermediate guide (see: “Care,
maintenance and inspection - Wire-guide tubes”)
Cause:
Wire is not sufficiently tensioned when the unreeling device is idling; at the
same time, the housing is earthed
Remedy:
“Remedy” as for the first group of faults: “Wire jumps out of the guide grooves
of the drawback pulleys” (see above)
