Device concept
The standard version from the VR 5000 se-
ries has a cover for wirespools with a maxi-
mum diameter of 300 mm (11.81 in.).
Also available is the noSpool variant wi-
thout an integrated wirespool holder. The
noSpool variant is particularly suitable for
robot and automated applications with an
external wire feeder.
The standard 4-roller drive has good wire-
feeding properties. The wire-feed units from
the VR 5000 series are also suitable for
long hosepacks.
Due to their compact design, the VR 5000 wire-feed units can be used in many different
ways.
The device has a "Power limitation" safety feature. This means that the power source can
be operated at the power limit without compromising process safety. For more information,
see the "Welding mode" section.
Requirements
The VR 5000 wire-feed units can be operated with the TransSteel 3500 / 5000 power
sources.
Application area
The wire-feed units from the VR 5000 series are suitable for all shielding gas welding work
for steel applications and can be used with any of the standard shielding gases provided
for this purpose.
Warning notices
on the device
The wire-feed unit has safety symbols on the rating plate. The safety symbols must not be
removed or painted over. The symbols warn against operating the equipment incorrectly,
as this may result in serious injury and damage.
