10. Plug in an external amplifier (if desired) into the jacks labeled "LINE OUT LEFT" and
"LINE OUT RIGHT."
11. Connection to an external computer is done by plugging in a USB cable between the
Colt rear panel USB connector and the USB connector on the computer. After audio-
metric tests have been run, test data may be retrieved from the tablet by use of a USB
cable between tablet and computer.
2.2 Powering Up the Colt Audiometer
The Colt Audiometer is composed of two main parts: The Android tablet containing the user
interface program (Figure 2.2A), and the Colt Audiometer Base (Figure 2.2B), which contains
the specialized electronics necessary for creating highly accurate test signals. For the Colt
Audiometer to work properly, it is essential that good communication be established between
these two components. The following instructions must be followed in order to properly
establish and maintain that essential communication link.
