Chapter 3: Operation of the Colt Audiometer
+10 dB Boost: Adds 10 dB of HL range to the hearing level sliders on both channels.
Tracking: When enabled, the hearing level sliders for both channels will be adjusted by the
same amount simultaneously whenever one hearing level slider is changed.
Start: Starts a new patient. This button is used to clear existing settings for the Controls and
Graphs.
Aided: Used to indicate that the test was performed with a hearing aid.
dB: Changes the interval of the hearing level for each channel. Choose between 1, 2, and 5 dB.
Reverse: When enabled, a stimulus is continually presented to the patient for the selected
channel. Touching the presentation switch interrupts the stimulus.
Stimulus: Present a signal to the patient for the selected channel.
Hearing Level: Adjust the input level of the stimulus for the selected channel.
Frequency: Change the frequency of the tone and any narrow band noise.
Save: Used for saving the audiometric test data to the Android tablet.
Send: Used for sending an audiogram to a connected computer.
3.1.15 Options
Five tone stimulus options are available with this release:
Normal
ABLB
MLB
SISI
DLI
As with other menus, touch and hold to display the option list. Then choose a desired test
option by touching it. Items in the list can also be seen one at a time by using short touches.
Operation of the different options are described below:
ABLB:
Touch both REVERSE tabs to present the stimulus signals continuously. Touch the PULSE tab
to enable the ABLB action. Adjust the levels as needed.
This option alternately switches on the left and right channels with 500 millisecond intervals.
MLB:
Note that two frequencies are enabled for this option. Otherwise operation is similar to that
of the ABLB.
Touch both REVERSE tabs to present the stimulus signals continuously. Touch the PULSE tab
to enable the action. Adjust the levels and frequencies as needed.
