Printing Various Types of Paper
This machine can print not only on plain paper but also on various types of paper including heavyweight paper and
label paper.
To change the type of paper set in the tray, configure the paper type as well at the [Paper Tray Settings] screen of
the control panel. After the settings are changed, retrieve the setting information of the machine from the printer
driver.
Note
If the type of paper specified by the printer driver and the type of paper configured by [Paper Tray Settings] on the
control panel do not match, processing configured by [Device] > [App Settings] > [Print Settings] > [Other Settings] >
[Paper Type Mismatch] after logging in as a machine administrator is carried out.
When the paper type configured in the print driver does not match the paper loaded in the Paper Tray, the print data will
not be correctly processed. The toner will not properly fuse to the paper, the paper will become smudged, and the print
quality will decrease.

To change the type of paper set in the tray, refer to "Changing the Paper Settings" (P.58).
For the method to acquire the setting information of the machine, refer to the Help of the printer driver.
Printing After Automatically Selecting the Tray According to
the Paper Type
When the [Paper Tray Settings] setting matches the type of paper loaded in the paper tray, the machine will select
the appropriate paper tray based on the specified paper type setting, even if you do not specify a paper tray with
the printer driver.
This method makes it possible to request a print job without worrying about the type of paper loaded in each paper
tray.
