2 Network Settings
Setting the DNS Parameters
If setting an FQDN-format host name or DNS host
name for the "Save In" location, you must set the
parameters for DNS.
The DNS parameters can be set using
CentreWare Internet Services under [Protocol
Settings] > [TCP/IP] on the [Properties] tab.
Note
• Set the DNS parameters as necessary.
If using DNS, set the parameters for the following
setting items.
• Get DNS Server Address
• DNS Server Address
• DNS Domain Name

Setting the WINS Parameters
If transferring scanned data to an SMB server, and
if setting a computer name of a computer located
on other subnet as a "Save In" location, set the
parameters for WINS.
The WINS parameters can be set using
CentreWare Internet Services under [Protocol
Settings] > [TCP/IP] on the [Properties] tab.

• Set the WINS parameters as necessary.
If using WINS, set the parameters for the following
setting items:
• Get WINS Server Address
• Primary WINS Server Address
• Secondary WINS Server Address

Registering an Address in
Address Book
Addresses for Scan to E-mail or Scan to PC can
be registered in Address Book.
To register, change, or delete addresses in
Address Book, use DocuScan Manager or
CentreWare Internet Services.
Note
• If you have registered new addresses into Address
Book, it is recommended that you create its backup.
For information on how to create a backup of Address
Book, refer to "6 System Settings" > "Address Book
Maintenance" in the User Guide.
• You can enter addresses directly on the control panel
instead of selecting them from Address Book. For
information on how to enter characters on the control
panel, refer to "Entering Characters" (P.100).
DocuScan Manager is software that allows you to
store e-mail/server addresses in Address Book. It
also allows you to edit images scanned on the
scanner.
DocuScan Manager can be installed from the
“Software Pack” CD-ROM included with the
scanner.
