Envelopes and other media
Before loading
Check the state of the envelope.
There should be no curl and/or wave at the edge.
When there is large curl or wave at the edge, replace the envelope or correct it.
There should be no affixed area.
If there is any affixed area, remove glue and overlap of the affixed area.
Glue should not stick out.
If glue sticks out, wipe it.
The envelope should not be folded.
How to Load
Loading surface: The print surface faces up
Paper orientation when the flaps are open: Flaps come at the
left when viewed from the front of the machine
Paper orientation when the flaps are closed: Flaps come at
the right or front when viewed from the front of the machine
Important
Do not load too many envelopes. If too many are set, envelopes
may become skewed, and it may cause a machine break down.
Note
If loaded with the flap open, the envelope cannot be automatically recognized as standard size.
When the envelope has glue, load it with its flap closed.
When loaded with flap closed and oriented facing the front of the machine, a print defect may occur with
the image at the paper trail edge depending on the type of image that is arranged.
Double-feeding of envelopes may be detected if envelopes have different thickness from each other.
If the paper is curled, apply the curl correction.
Fan the stack well when paper has burrs (irregular paper cutting edge).
