Basic Operation
6.
Optical fiber is conveyed to a heater unit, and it takes down to a heater part and holds.
If a protection sleeve is not centered with tube heater, the protection sleeve may not
shrink completely. In this case, please set to a heater once again and perform
re-heating.
7.
Heater lid automatically closes when fiber is set.
The heating cycle starts automatically as
soon as the tube heater is closed.
8.
If heat processing is completed, buzzer will sound and HEAT LED turns off.
9.
Open tube heater lids and remove protected fiber from the tube heater. Apply some
tension to the fiber while removing it from the tube heater.
10.
Visually inspect the finished sleeve to verify no bubbles or debris/dust is present in the
sleeve.
Make sure the splice point is located at the center of the protection sleeve.
Protection sleeve may stick to heater
plate surface. Use a cotton swab to remove
sleeve from heater.
Since it gets very hot in the heater and the sleeve will get hot, you should not touch
the sleeve immediately after heating.
Apply tension to the fiber until heater cover closes completely.
If HEAT key is pressed during tube heating, the HEAT LED blinks. If HEAT key is
pressed again, the tube heating process is aborted.
To disable the “Auto Start” function, set [Auto Start Trigger] in [Heater Menu] to
turning off. Press HEAT key to start tube heating when “OFF” is selected.
