If you are seeing this error – and your fibre is clean – then you may have the wrong
splice mode selected, e.g. splicer is set to single mode but you are using multimode
fibre. If you are not sure of the fibre type then set the splicer to Full Auto.

Clean the sheath clamp pads, v-grooves and v-groove clamps – the fibre is probably
breaking when they are clamped onto a small piece of debris.

Swap the standard sheath clamps that are fitted to the splicer with the additionally
supplied loose tube sheath clamps. Also make sure that you are stripping the fibres
far enough back.

This error message means that the fibres are not moving with the sheath
clamps.
The two most probable causes are:
1. The fibre is snapping after it has been placed in the unit.
2. The fibre is loose tube or pigtail fibre type.
The solutions:
By far the most common cause of problems when splicing is dirt. It is good practice
to get into a routine of regularly cleaning the splice area (see “Cleaning before Splice
Operation” in the Quick Reference Guide).
