6. The Battery is faulty and there is no power
adapter (AC or Auto) installed.

5. Try the Resume Button. If that doesn’t work
slide the Power Switch firmly to the rear, pause
and then firmly to the front. If you shut down
your notebook from Windows 95 you are really
in special suspension mode,the power is on
and you can restart with the Resume Button
unless it is disabled.
6. Use the Status Indicator Panel to verify the
presence and condition of the battery. (See
Figure 2-3 on page 17.) If the battery is indi-
cating a short remove the battery and operate
from another power source or replace
the battery.
7. If the battery is dead there will be a beep
when the Power Switch is turned on and the
notebook will immediately go into Dead
Battery Suspend Mode. (See page 26.) Check
the Status Indicator Panel to determine the
presence and condition of the battery. (See
Figure 2-3 on page 17.) Use a power adapter
to operate until the battery is charged or
install a charged battery.
