Module population
–
The memory modules have to be registered Fully Buffered DIMMs (ECC
DDR2 533/667).
–
Memory modules with 512 MB, 1 Gbyte, 2 Gbyte or 4 Gbyte of memory can
be used.
–
The memory slots have to be populated in pairs.
–
The module capacity between pairs can differ: pair 1A/1B can be populated
with two 512 Mbyte modules and pair 2A/2B with two 1 Gbyte modules.
–
In the case of a mixed configuration, the memory module pairs with the lower
capacity should be installed first.
Install identical modules (of the same type, manufacturer, speed, timing, and
organization) per the instructions below:
–
When operating in non-mirror mode:
–
Always use two DIMMs per configuration for a memory upgrade.
–
Install the first pair in the FBD 1A and FBD 1B slots.
–
Observe the following channel pair sequence during installation:
–
FDB 1C – FDB 1D
–
FBD 2A – FDB 2B
–
FBD 2C – FDB 2D
–
FBD 3A – FDB 3B
–
FBD 3C – FDB 3D
–
When operating in single DIMM mode, the module should be installed in the
FBD 1A slot.
