8.2.14
Modify REC Multiplicity
This function specifies multiplicity when performing REC. By specifying the appropriate multiplic-
ity, the ETERNUS DX Disk storage system controls the transfer capacity to the line being used
for remote connection, and uses lines efficiently.
If "Manual" is selected for the specification mode, REC will be performed with the specified
multiplicity. If "Auto" is selected for the specification mode, REC will be performed in accordance
with the recommended multiplicity, which has been calculated from the round trip time
measurement results. If the round trip time has not been measured, "***" is displayed in the
"Recommended Multiplicity" field. To display the recommended multiplicity, use the procedure in
"8.2.13 Get Round Trip Time" (page 244)
.
•
Multiplicity can be configured only when the connection type is
"Remote". When the connection type is "Direct", REC is performed at
the speed that is specified in
"8.2.5 Modify EC/OPC Priority" (page 205)
•
If "***" is displayed in the "Recommended Multiplicity" field of the
Remote Box ID List, and "Auto" has been selected for the specification
mode, REC will not be performed with the appropriate multiplicity. To
select "Auto", measure the round trip time. Refer to
for details.
•
If the path between devices is changed, measure the round trip time and
set the multiplicity again.
The multiplicity of several remote Box IDs can be changed in one
operation. However, the changed multiplicity of all the remote Box IDs will
be "Auto" or a specified value.
