Cleaning the Connectors
Clean the fiber end surface if you are using the connector for the first time. In
addition, clean the surface every time you disconnect the connector.
Step 1
Inspect the optical fiber cords and connectors for damage.
Step 2
Clean the connectors by wiping the fiber end surface with a cotton swab soaked in
alcohol (Figure 5-9).
Step 3
After cleaning them, use compressed air to remove any remaining alcohol
(Figure 5-10).
