Symptom
• The device has stopped
transmission even though the
settings haven’t been changed.
• The following message is
displayed when starting
Plugfree: “Some services are
unavailable since the
composition of COM ports has
been changed or the COM port,
assigned by another
application, is in use. Review
the COM port setting.”
When you add a COM port using
Plugfree, the “New Hardware
Detection Wizard” window
appears and asks you to install
a program required for
Bluetooth Virtual COM.
When you click on a folder in the
Explorer tree directory while
using the File Transfer function,
you are unable to see the
contents of the folder.
Possible Causes & Solutions
If your computer is connected to a device that uses
something other than Plugfree to select COM ports, the COM
port numbers selected by the device may conflict with the
COM port numbers selected by Plugfree, making them
unusable. Please follow the steps to enable the Plugfree
COM port selections.
1. Click the “Plugfree Settings” button, then “COM Port
Setting”.
2. Click “Return to Default Setting” and confirm the available
COM port numbers.
3. Click the “OK” button.
Then, reset COM port numbers for your communication
software and Bluetooth
TM
device. See the manuals
accompanying each product for settings.
If you are using a Modem Station, follow the next steps for
resetting.
•
Unable to connect to a Modem Station Uninstall your
modem, then reinstall it and change the COM port setting.
If the “New Hardware Detection Wizard” appears, see the
paragraph below.
When you add a new COM port with Plugfree, you need to
install the Bluetooth Virtual COM Driver.
To use the added COM port for OBEX File Transfer Service
or OBEX Object push Service, once the Bluetooth Virtual
COM Driver has been installed, exit from Plugfree and restart
it.
The File Transfer function does not support displaying of the
contents of common/shared folders by clicking on them in the
tree directory. Do not use the tree directory.
