Locating the Controls
and Connectors
TOP AND FRONT COMPONENTS
The following is a brief description of your LifeBook
notebook’s top and front components.
Status Indicator Panel
The Status Indicator Panel displays symbols that
correspond with specific components of your LifeBook
notebook. (See Status Indicator Panel on page 14 for more
information)
Display Panel Latch
The display panel latch locks and releases the display
panel.
Display Panel
The display panel is a color LCD panel with back
lighting for the display of text and graphics.
LifeBook Application Panel
The LifeBook Application Panel provides one-touch
application launch capability. (See LifeBook Application
Panel on page 22 for more information)
Keyboard
A full-size keyboard with dedicated Windows keys.
(See Using the Keyboard on page 16 for more information)
Touchpad Pointing Device
The pointing device is a Touchpad that allows you
simple cursor control. (See TouchPad Pointing Device on
page 19 for more information)
Power and Suspend/Resume Button
The Power and Suspend/Resume button is always used
to Power On your LifeBook notebook from its Off state.
It is also used as the Suspend/Resume button. This
allows you to suspend notebook activity without
powering off, resume your notebook from suspend
mode, and power on your LifeBook notebook when it
has been shut down. (See Power On on page 29 for more

on page 32 for more information)
