Installation
1) The user must not change the settings of terminals not
described in this section. The terminals must remain as set
when shipped
2) Do not change terminal settings when the power is on.
3) To strap setting terminals, use the jumper shipped with the
drive.
4-5
1) Make sure that the system power is off.
2) Do not connect or disconnect any cable when the power is on.
4-13
1) Be careful of the insertion directions of SCSI connectors. For
a system in which the terminating resistor power is supplied
via the SCSI cable, connecting connectors in the wrong
direction may cause the following:
The overcurrent protection fuse of the terminating resistor
power supply (SCSI device) may blow when power is turned
on.
The cable may burn if overcurrent protection is not provided.
2) Be careful of cable connector positions when connecting more
than one SCSI device. The SCSI device having the terminating
resitor must be connected to the end of the cable
3) The cables must be kept away from the rotating part of the
spindle motor
4-14
Before demounting the optical disk drive, turn off the system
power. Do not remove screws securing the cables and drive when
the power is on.
4-17
Cleaning cartridge
Use the cleaning solution and cleaning cloth specified in Table
5.2. If other than the specified items is used, disk media surface
may be damaged.
Do not use this cleaning kit for the floppy disk or the optical disk
cartridge used for other optical disk drive.
Clean the cartridge at clean place. Put a disposable groves at
cleaning so that the figureprint does not put on the disk media
(recommendation).
At setting the cartridge to the setting case, do not apply the heavy
shock and push hardly.
In case of contact with eyes, immediately flush eyes with water.

Maintenance and Repair
Data loss
In case of regular repair, the optical disk cartridge should not be
attached except where the cartridge causes the error. And before
having the drive repaired, save the data in the cartiridge. Fujitsu
is not responsible for data last during maintenance or repair.
