Adding/Removing a Server Blade to/from the System
The Server Blade
Ê
Remove the front fan module (see section “Replacing the Front Fan Module”
on page 126).

CAUTION!
Be sure that both power supply units are inserted and
functional, before you remove the front fan module!

CAUTION!
The system can continue operating without the front fan module.
The front fan module must be replaced within a reasonable amount
of time (max. 1 minute).
Ê
Remove the dummy modules from the two desired slots (see section
“Removing the Dummy Module” on page 96).
Ê
Insert the expanded server blade Pentium
®
M into the two slots as described
in section “Inserting the Server Blade” on page 99.
Ê
Attach the cable support, route and connect the cables to the corresponding
PCI modules (see section “Cable Routing” on the “Front side” on page 34).
For removing procedure see section “Removing the Server Blade” on page 101.

When you remove the expanded server blade and do not replaced it with
a new one, you must insert dummy modules into the empty slots. Make
sure that the dummy module engages in the slot correctly.
